Salam raya semua, maaf zahir pada kawan2 semua.. (rsnye dosa batin xde kot, hehe..)
Sempena raya yg lepas byk ternakan kami dibeli oleh pelanggan2 yg sedia ada.. ayam belanda jantan tggl kurang 20 ekor, yg lain semua sudah di 'let go' sempena raya, tak tau la dieorg nk masak apa, yg betina pun dh tggl untuk buat induk sahaja..
Ayam kampung plak sungguh laris sekali, hbs licin semua ayam2 dara & teruna di reban kami, skrg yg tinggal hanyalah ibu2 ayam, bapak ayam (2ekor) dan anak2 ayam sahaja.. alhamdullillah... Ayam kampung ni mmg dapat sambutan yg sgt bagus, kami terpaksa menghampakan ramai org sbb x cukup stok, rasanye next year kami kena tambah byk lagi ayam kampung utk memenuhi permintaan yg semakin bertambah.
So skrg, BD Farm sungguh agak sunyi kerana byk ternakan sudah dijual. Tapi yg lebih menyedihkan ialah sejurus selepas musim raya reban kami diserang oleh oleh Fowl Cholera, huhu.. Mula2 risau juga sbb ingatkan kena ND tp bila check kat JPV dan melihat symtomp2 ayam yg mati ternyata ianya cholera. Punca penyakit ini kami tak dpt pastikan tapi diberitahu oleh Vet maybe berpunca dari water source, makanan tercemar ataupun jangkitan dari luar. Bila dipikirkan semula mmg logic, hari raya lepas mmg kami bg makan ayam2 kami baki2 makanan raya (ketupat n lemang pun ada), tak cukup dgn itu ramai juga sedara mara & sahabat handai yg dtg umah dan melawat reban kami, so rasanya sedikit sebanyak ianya menyumbang pada merebaknya cholera itu.
Jumlah kematian ayam akibat cholera tu x banyak hanya 6 ekor turkey (4 jantan, 2 betina) dan 3 ekor anak ayam kampung (3bln). Tp yg sgt sedih dan kecewa, Turkey Penjantan baka Spanish Black (Pure) yg diambil dari Pak Itam (klang) adalah mangsa pertama cholera itu. Pejantan ni sgt besar dan jinak, beratnya semasa mati ialah 12kg. huhuhu... Pejantan ini la yg selalu menghiburkan kami sekeluarga, moga dia RIP 'disana', huhuhu..
Pada anda semua yg x tau gejala cholera ni, tanda2nya ialah ayam menjadi lemah dan tak larat berdiri, kaki menggeletar dan melepek jer (terbaring/meniarap).. kepala panas seolah2 tgh demam, badan ayam agak panas juga, dan kepak jatuh, kalau korang buka mulut ayam akan nmpk seoalah2 ada lendir seiras kahak. najis ayam cair dan berwarna jernih berserta putih kekuningan.
Cara mengubat penyakit ini ialah dapatkan ubat Ciproxin, cara rawatan ada dua, bg ayam yg dah nazak, sumbat 0.5ml ciproxin dlm mulut die, sekali sehari. bg yg baru ada simtom2 td bancuhkan 1ml ciproxin bg setiap liter air dan bg mereka minum 3-4 hari. Effect penyakit cholera pada ayam ni x secepat ND, ayam akan sakit then akan mengambil masa 2-3 hari baru mati, ia mengambil masa yg panjang utk membunuh haiwan ternakan. Ubat ciproxin tu anda boleh beli, atau pegi je ke Vet JPV daerah dan minta dr dieorg, biasanya ubat ini ada dlm stok dan mudah didapati. Yg penting asingkan semua ayam yg telah terjangkit dan rawat mereka mengikut keperluan.
Lepas penyakit ini hilang, sembur reban dan tanah anda dgn dis-infection atau kalau xde boleh sembur pakai dettol.

jgn salah sangka.. huhu..
Salam semua.. Skrg ni kita sudah berada di 10 mlm terakhir di bulan ramadhan, so gandakan la ibadah masing2 ye kawan2 semua, aminnn...
Kalini aku nk cerita perihal customer kami, seorg wanita dari Johor Jaya, JB. Pagi tadi kakak ni call abg aku (kadir belanda) kata nk dtg lawat reban kami, so kebetulan abg aku mmg ada kat pontian, so die pun kata ok je dan tunjukkan arah jalan dr exit highway sedenak.
Sesampai je ke reban kami x lama kemudian, akak ni seolah2 terkejut melihat reban kami, die kata "la.. ni ke projek ayam nye? tgk dlm blog nmpk mcm besar", hehehe.. abg aku senyum jer.. rupe2nye akak tu ingat kami buat projek ayam berskala mega, die dtg nk minta khidmat nasihat mengenai penternakkan ayam daging dan penetasan ayam daging. kesian akak tu, dtg dr jauh tp kecewa, huhu.. kami meminta maaf sekiranya gambar2 di blog kami membuatkan ramai tersalah anggap, huhu..
kat sini jgk, nak bagi tau semua (mcm ramai je follower blog ni, hehehe..) yg projek kami ni baru peringkat awal lagi, x besar mana pun.. just projek belakang umah.. kami skrg fokus kat ayam belanda or turkeys, disamping itu ada juga memelihara ayam kampung, ayam mutiara dan menternak ikan air tawar seperti keli, haruan & puyu dlm kolam kanvas..
p/s: kami penternak baru belajar. :)

Berdosakah kita?
Salam semua…
Sebenarnya sejak awal menternak ayat kat atas tu sentiasa bermain difikiran aku. Ayat tu merujuk kepada bilangan kematian anak ayam / ternakan yg kite pelihara. Kalau mereka ni mati di dalam jagaan kita, adakah kita mendapat dosa? Huhu… sepanjang aku mula memelihara mmg rasanya dh byk dh mati atas pelbagai sebab. Ada yang mati bergaduh, ada yang mati tersepit, mati kena makan ular, musang dan mungkin juga ada yg mati x cukup makan sebab berebut, huhu.. ni belum masuk mati sebab kena penyakit tertentu.
Seperti penternak lain aku rasa yg banyak mati ialah anak2 ayam, huhu.. lebih byk lagi yg x sempat menetas (mati dlm telur). Jadi persoalannya, adakah kita yg dipersalahkan atas sebab kematian ternakan ini?
Cuba anda renungkan punca kematian ini:
- kerana penyakit (mungkin sebab kita lambat @ ambil mudah nk bg vaksin)
- dimakan ular/musang (mungkin sebab reban kurang sempurna)
- mati tersepit (reban terlalu kecil @ suhu mentol tak cukup panas utk anak
ayam
- mati berebut makanan (makanan x cukup atau tmpt mkn x cukup)
- anak menetas x sempurna (kita kurang mahir guna incubator)
- anak menetas cacat (suhu, humidity incubator x sempurna)
kalau anda perhatikan setiap jenis kematian yg saya sebutkan mungkin berpunca dari kesilapan kita, so kita adalah mungkin sebab utama kematian ternakan itu. Ini menunjukkan kita kurang bertanggung jawab ke atas ternakan kita, so persoalannya ialah ‘adakah kita berdosa?’, huhuhu…

Puasa di BD Farm..
Salam semua. Rasanye belum terlambat nk ucapkan selamat berpuasa kat semua, moga ramadhan tahun ni lebih bermakna kepada kita semua, aminn..
Dah agak lama jugak kami tak update blog ni, sebabnya skrg tgh agak sibuk menambah-baik struktur reban di BD farm. Seperti yg pernah aku cerita kat satu posting masa awal tahun lalu, tahun ni projek utama kami ialah utk menambah-baik reban yg ada supaya ternakan kami lebih selesa.
Dlm posting tu aku byk cerita mengenai nk tambah brooder, tambak tanah, reban baru, pagar, incubator baru, hatcher n etc.. tapi setelah dikira2 kami dpt adakan 60-70% je dari apa yang kami projected kan dulu, huhu.. jadi la..
Harapan kami lepas siap semua kerja2 ni turkeys dan ayam kampung yg kami bela akan lebih riang dan selesa dgn reban baru dan kawasan kawanan mereka yg lebih besar lagi, kaw ni redup sebab bawah pokok kelapa sawit. Supaya mereka boleh membiak dgn lebih byk lagi.
So, puasa tahun ni mmg memenatkan sbb byk keje nk dibuat, kami harap sblm oktober semuanya siap. Aminnn….

Dreaming of this to happen in Malaysia....
Salam everybody... it has been a while since the last time i updated this blog, u want to know y?? football fever!! WC is coming to town, hehehe...
Okay, while i'm waiting for the '3rd session of WC' (2.30am game) i normally surfing the internet to make sure i didn't fall asleep.. n lucky me that i found this article, this is a good news to the free range farming n i cant wait for this to happen in our country.. huhuhu...

Morrisons has announced that it has become the first top four retailer in the UK to switch to 100% British free-range on its own-label eggs.
This week’s introduction of 100% British free-range comes nine months earlier than Morrisons had previously forecast and will see millions of laying hens become free-range two years before the EU-wide ban on battery cages comes into force.
The retailer, which currently sells more than 10 million own-label eggs every week, will offer four own-label ranges, all 100% British and free-range, providing even more customers with an ethical choice when purchasing eggs. (Morrisons lowest-priced free-range eggs will be £1.37 for six medium-sized).
Jamie Winter, Trading Manager from Morrisons said; “We have been working towards this goal for some time. As Britain’s fourth largest grocer, we have a responsibility to our customers, suppliers and their animals. We are unique in sourcing our food directly from the producers so we are able to introduce and maintain good farm animal welfare into our sourcing policies. We have a dedicated Farm Working Group which liaises with a network of farmer groups to shape our policies and set targets on farm animal welfare.”
Rowen West-Henzell of Compassion in World Farming comments; “Morrisons has achieved great strides over the last 12 months. Its move to 100% British free-range on own-label shell eggs demonstrates its commitment to improving animal welfare.”

Makanan sampingan/tambahan
Salam semua..
Post kalini aku nk tulis pendek jer, nk cita psl mknn sampingan/tambahan yg kami beri pada ayam.
Ramai jgk pelanggan yg dtg reban ke BinDim Farm kata ayam kampong kami kelihatan cantik, selain badan yg besar dan sihat, bulu ayam kami juga cantik dan bersinar2 (puji ayam sendiri.. hehe)
Nak tau rahsianya?? Xde rahsia pun, rsnye sebab kami bagi mkn tahi minyak. Kat johor org panggil taik minyak, negeri lain x tahu la apa ekh, hehehe.. kami beli kat kilang kepala, satu beg 40-50kg harga rm12 jer.. murah… just letak kat tanah (berbumbung) dan koyakkan kampit, tinggalkan jer. So, mana2 ayam terasa nk mkn, dieorg akan dtg sendiri ke kampit tu dan makan. Biasanya 1 kampit taik minyak ni boleh tahan 2 minggu, dieorg akan mkn sikit2 sbg makanan ringan. Makanan utama dieorg ialah jagung + hampas soya + dedak + copra.
Pics kat bwh ni ialah gambar ayam tgh mkn taik minyak, dan hampas soya. gambar menjemur hampas soya pun ada.
p/s: mknn ni utk ayam dewasa sahaja ye, utk ank ayam bg mkn dedak starter sahaja.

Brooder Baru...
Salam semua…
Tahun ni bilangan ayam kat Bin Dim Farm kian bertambah, alhamdullillah…. Ayam kampong, ayam belanda, ayam mutiara (guinea gowl), dan ayam serama semuanya kian membiak. Apabila makin byk tentunya ruang reban perlu ditambah. Betul tak? Untuk ayam kampong dan ayam serama xde masalah sebab kami mmg memelihara cara free range iaitu lepas bebas, tp untuk ayam belanda (induk) dan ayam muitara mmg kena buat reban baru. Tapi, sebelum reban baru dibuat yg paling penting ialah buat brooder baru, supaya anak ayam ni tak berhimpit2 dan dapat menikmati hidup dgn tenang dan nyaman.
Ok lah, pada w’end yg lalu kami telah membuat 2 brooder baru yg berukuran 3 x 6 kaki, dan 1 brooder berukuran 3 x 8 kaki. Rasanye buat ms ni tambahan 3 brooder baru ini dapat menampung anak ayam yg semakin “ramai”. Sebelum ni kami ada 2 brooder berukuran 3 x 4 kaki dibuat sendiri, selain beberapa sangkar arnab dan beberapa biji bakul sayur yg telah diubah suai menjadi brooder, hehehe.. FYI, untuk anak ayam yg baru menetas sehingga umur 2 mggu, kami masih menggunakan bakul sayur kerana ianya lebih sesuai. Selepas umur 2 minggu baru kami akan masukkan ke dalam brooder secondary (samada sangkar arnab, atau 5 brooder yg dibuat sendiri).
3 brooder baru kami ini, kami jangkakan mampu memuatkan sekurang2nya 150-200 ekor anak ayam sehinggalah umur mereka mencapai 5-8 minggu iaitu umur yg sesuai sebelum melepaskan mereka ke tanah. Anak ayam ni bila lama sgt dikurung, mereka akan jadi cannibal (makan kwn sendiri) dan masa tu peratus kematian akan meningkat. Tapi jika cepat sgt diturunkan ke tanah plak, mereka akan kalah berebut mknn dan sering dibuli oleh ayam dewasa dan akhirnya kurang mkn dan terbantut.
Untuk 3 brooder ni, kami tidak mengeluarkan apa2 modal kecuali rm3.60 untuk membeli 6 engsel pintu. Bahan lain ialah kayu 2x3 yg dh ntah bape hand dh, rsnye 4 or 5 hand kot. Asbestos 2nd hand dan mata punai yg telah lama kami beli tp tak pakai2.. kami ambil masa 2 hari (sabtu dan ahad) utk menyiapkannya.

p/s: cuba tgk kadir belanda potong kayu tu pakai apa? Pakai chainsaw 2.5 kaki, hahaha.. ni semua akibat gergaji kami tumpul so apalagi semua kayu kami potong guna chainsaw, muahahaha… Cepat dan Cekap!! Kekeke..

Meaning of common terminology used with regards to poultry in Malaysia
Ayam Kampung
The meaning of this term depends on its usage. Traditionally, it is used to describe the indigenous chicken which is a mixed breed of various breeds of chickens indigenous to this part of the world. Among the breeds that made up the ayam kampung are the jungle fowl (gallus gallus), the Malay, the Sumatra and the Siamese fighting cock. The ayam kampung is not a breed. It is a term used to describe a mix-breed chicken commonly found in villages throughout South East Asia.
In the markets, the term ayam kampung refers to any non-broiler chicken i.e. a slow growing, colored feather chicken. Various improved breeds and hybrids are now also sold as ayam kampung. These include the Sasso chickens, various Hungarian Naked Neck breeds and hybrids, various crosses such as Kabir and Isa, etc. In many rural roads, one can see these breeds roaming free and are considered as 'ayam kampung' by villagers now.
To the consumer the term Ayam Kampung implies that the chicken is free-range and fed natural food. This unfortunately is very far from the truth. If a supplier can supply you with hundreds of ayam kampung per day, the only way this can be achieved is through intensive farming methods
Free Range
Free-range implies freedom of movement and being raised in clean soil with fresh vegetation and grass available for the chickens. This calls for unlimited space for the chickens to roam. This used to be the case in the old days where we see flocks of 20 or 30 chickens roaming around the kampung.
Nowadays free-range chickens are grown in an enclosed space, either in houses called rebans or in small enclosed "yards". If grown in "yards" the grounds rapidly become bare, muddy and smelly. The right word to describe this type of operation is "yarding" from the word "back-yard". This type of operation will result in an environment infested with pathogens. Some farmers "yard" their ayam kampung in a small area in an oil palm estate, fenced in under the trees and sell them as free-range. Most "ayam kampung" sold today in the wet market however, are raised in rebans and have never seen a single blade of grass.
True free range requires unlimited foraging space, which is not practical, or for the chickens to be moved from fresh pasture to fresh pasture, as is done for DQ Chickens
Premium Range Chicken
This means the same as Premium Chicken. It does not have anything to do with free ranging. It is just a play on words
No Added Antibiotic / Antibiotic Residue Free
"No added antibiotic" implies that the feed already has sub-therapeutic antibiotic and the farmer do not add further antibiotics on his own. Antibiotic residue-free implies those feed with sub-therapeutic antibiotics are withdrawn prior to slaughter and replaced with feed totally free of antibiotic. Withdrawal period can be anything between 5 to 10 days. DQ Chicken has no sub-therapeutic antibiotics in the feed and DQ do not rely on antibiotics for growth or for disease control. DQ chickens are tested regularly on a random basis purchased from random outlets selling our chickens by an independent lab.
Chemical Free
Chemical-free is taken to mean chickens that are not fed chemicals of any kind, nor treated with chemicals to prolong shelf life. Chemical-free does not necessarily mean that the chickens are not disinfected with chlorine during processing, or that the environment that they are raised is chemical-free. Also, most chicken feed in Malaysia contain fish meal which has various chemicals in it, for example a preservative called ethoxyquin. Fish meal has also been found to have high levels of dioxin according to a BBC report a few years ago. DQ Chicken are chemical free and are raised in a chemical free environment
Fresh Chicken
This is taken now to mean any chicken that's not frozen. In some wet markets and smaller supermarkets, frozen chickens are routinely thawed and sold as fresh. DQ Chicken are aged for 8 to 10 hours at 2 to 4 degrees celsius and then delivered to
consumers chilled.
Organic Chicken
Local "organic" chickens are not certified and normally refers to chickens that are antibiotic-free. In most instances they are not free-ranging and do not qualify to be called "organic". Apart from that, nothing much is known about their farming practices. From tests done by us, it would appear that the chickens are fed meat bone and blood meal and fishmeal and therefore cannot be considered as organic. The only true organic chicken we have found available locally is Barlil Organic Chicken from Australia sold at Country Farm outlets. Our tests have shown them to be quality chickens.

Projek Ayam Kampung
Seperti para pembaca blog sedia maklum, projek utama kami ialah menternak ayam belanda dan aquaculture. Tapi sejak akhir2 ni byk sangat pertanyaan dan tenpahan yg kami terima mengenai ayam kampong. Tak kira la ayam kg ori, ayam kg kacuk or ayam kacuk.
Seperti dalam post2 terdahulu, kami ada menyatakan yg kami tak berapa berkira sgt mengenai baka ayam yg kami ternak, yg penting bagi kami ialah cara penternakan itu dijalankan. Kami di BD Farm menternak kesemua ayam2 kami secara free range iaitu lepas bebas. Kami akan memelihara anak2 ayam ini dlm brooder dahulu, kemudian bila kami rasa mereka ni dh cukup besar utk dilepaskan ke tanah, baru la kami lepaskan. Biasanya kami akan lepaskan bila umur ayam ni cecah 1-2 bulan.
Selepas itu ayam2 ni masih lagi diberi makan setiap hari dan memberi juga peluang pada ayam2 ni utk meragut2 rumput, mkn serangga2 dan lain. Biasanya ayam kg kacuk/ ayam kacuk kami akan pelihara sehingga 3-4 bulan then jual, ayam kg plak biasa smpi umur 5-6 bulan.
Ketika ini permintaan terhadap ayam kg adalah tggi, setiap w’end ada je org dtg n beli, so sbb itu kami cuba utk membela ayam2 ni dgn lebih byk lagi.. kami target menjelang ogos (bulan puasa) kami dpt pasarkan 200 ekor ayam seminggu, dan hari raya nnt jualan mencecah 500-1000 ekor.. insyaAllah…

kali ini kami nk kongsi bersama satu keratan akhbar yg diambil dari The Star, ni berita lama, dh dekat 2 tahun dah. Keratan dari surat khabar bertarikh 19 Julai 2008.
Apa yg kami nk tau adalah apa status program ni? dapat ke Maran dijadikan bandar ayam kg skrg? dapat ke penduduk kg atau penternak terpilih supply 13,000 ekor ayam kg (free range) yg dimaksudkan?
ok lah, ni dia keratan surat khabar tersebut untuk rujukan semua:

Boost for free-range chicken

MARAN: Maran town is now known as bandar ayam kampung (free-range chicken town).
State Agriculture, Agro-based Industries and Felda Affairs Committee chairman Datuk Tan Mohd Aminuddin Ishak said the ayam kampung or free-range chicken had admirers but was not popular in the market as it lacked promotion.
Tan Aminuddin said the chicken, which is reared by villagers, would be monitored by the District Agriculture Department, State Veterinary Services Department, Federal Agriculture Marketing Authority and Malaysia Agriculture Research and Development Institute.
“We want to be assured that the chicken quality is good.
Trying his skills: Tan Aminuddin cooking gulai ayam kampungafter launching of the recipe in Maran recently.
“We will look into its feed and marketing as we want the supply to be consistent,” he said.
He added that he hoped to see ayam kampung readily available at restaurants in the Maran district.
He said a pioneer batch of 26 farmers were appointed to rear and supply an estimated 13,380 ayam kampung to the market.
“More farmers are expected to take part in the programme and they can also market the product to locals if demand is good.
“Tourists who want to taste ikan patin can visit Temerloh and those who prefer udang galah can go to Rompin.
“With this programme, people can go to Maran to taste ayam kampung in the form of rendang, ayam goreng, ayam percik, sup ayam and others,” he said.

What is Free Range Chicken?
From the age of Hang Tuah to the 1980's free-range system was the popular way to raise poultry in Malaysia. It produced meaty, gamey taste birds at a reasonable cost, using a reasonable amount of labor and providing valuable fertility to the land. Its also the main source of protein for the rural folks who does not have the capability to buy meat. Many chicken farmers raised less than 1,000 birds on short-grass pasture ("range"), for both chickens and ducks (back then this is a commercial scale chicken farmers).
With the rise of industrial agriculture and the development of the confinement broiler barn, this sustainable and profitable system was discontinued by means of withdrawing growers contracts. Left with no market or processing facilities the practice was abandoned within less than 5 years. However, even though the system was phased out here in Malaysia and some part of Asia, it has a continuing popularity in Europe, even to the point of having legislated standards. In France, in 2000, over 20% of all poultry (90 million birds!) was raised using the free-range system.
In Malaysia the awareness of raising chickens in free range chicken is still very new and very low. People are often confused with the term Free Range Chicken/ Ayam Kampung Ori/ Organic Chicken. All these three type of chicken is totally different and is focusing on different things and different outcomes and views.
The term Free Range Chicken is focusing on how we raised the chicken and in what condition. The term Ayam Kampung Ori is focusing more on what breeds of chickens that we raised. While Organic Chicken focusing on what type of feed that we give for the chickens to grow. You cannot compare these 3 types of chicken farming because they were raised for different types of customers.
Today I want to share the awareness of raising Free Range Chickens. To accommodate this ‘new awareness’ in poultry farming, this is some of the essentials in free range standard according to most farmers in Europe especially in UK.
Free-Range Poultry Essentials
- Maintain at least 150’ between skid houses (reban bergerak) and field perimeter fencing to minimize predation problems.
- Maintain at least 100' between each skid house to maintain flock separation.
- Move skids ahead 50' to fresh pasture as necessary, generally every three to four weeks or as needed to keep birds out of mud. Usually. any time the birds have trashed an area around the skid that is larger 5 feet it is time for a move.
- Expect the birds to range about 40' out from each skid.
- Remember: While feed savings will be realized from pasture usage the goal is not so much feed savings as to provide vitamins, minerals, and exercise for enhanced animal welfare and improved meat quality
- Chicken must be reared at least 75 days for them to develop dark muscle so that it could hold a ‘good’ amount of omega 3 in its meat.
- Chicken can start be freed to roam the field at the age between 2-5 weeks, depends on weather condition at the time of the year.
** please be noted that this is for free range chicken, not organic chicken neither corn fed chicken or ayam kampong ori.. The chicks can be selected from various species of chicken (ayam kg, ayam kg kacuk, ayam merah or even ayam daging-putih), what we did is to rear chickens in free range condition. Kesian abg aku....
Salam semua..
Kali ni plak aku nk cerita psl ragam manusia… Semenjak BinDim Farm ada blog sendiri ni mmg ramai jgk org yg tel dan berminat nk melawat reban dan membeli ternakan dari kami, alhamdullillah mmg rezeki kami agaknya. Dulu aku pun x bape yakin dgn marketing melalui internet ni, ye la..ada bape byk blog/website kat luar sana tu, takkan la ada yg nk jengok blog kami, huhuhu… tp so far, mmg menggalakkan, hehehe..
Tapi yg tak sedapnya ada yg beria2 berjanji nk dtg ke reban dan melawat, tp bila smpi ms yg dijanjikan tak nmpk pun batang hidung, kesian abg aku (kadir belanda). Kenapa aku ckp kesian kat die ekh?? Byk sebabnye..
1. kalau korang nk tau abg aku ni rumah dia kat JB, keje kat Kota tinggi, so bila ada org nk dtg reban die kena balik pontian. Jauh tu beb, sejam jgk la, duit minyak lagi, tol lagi, huhu.. yg kat rumah cuma ada mak aku, if nk borak2 kosong boleh la, ni ada yg nk tanye harga, nk beli itu n ini, so mmg abg aku kena ada utk layan kehendak pelawat.
2. Abg aku dh berkeluarga dan ada komitmen sendiri, so bila pelawat nk dtg tu die terpaksa cancel plan lain utk keluarga die semata2 nk entertain pelawat, bila smpi kg tunggu punya tunggu, tp xde yg dtg, tentu la die hampa.
3. Kiteorg tak kisah pelawat nk dtg, bahkan mengalu2kan kedatangan korang supaya kita dpt berkongsi idea dan maybe boleh wujudkan rangkaian perniagaan. Kami juga tak kisah if korang nk cancel lawatan sbb kami paham kadang2 ada perkara emergency last minit. Tp tolong la call atleast 1 hari awal katakan tak jd dtg, supaya kami pun tak kecewa sgt. Yg kami agak kecewa ialah, bukan setakat x cancel tp tak call langsung pun kata nk dtg or tak, buat kami tertunggu2 dh akhirnya tak dtg.. huhu.. kesian abg aku tau.. dh 5,6 kali jugak bende ni berlaku, huhu.. dan ada jgk yg die balik pontian on weekdays sbb nk layan pelawat..
K lah, tu je posting kalini. Just kesian abg aku w’pun dia kata x kisah n ketawa2 selalu tp byk gak bende lain yg die terpaksa lepaskan (opportunity cost) semata2 nk layan pelawat2, huhu.. anyway, kepada yg dh dtg tu, terima kasih byk2, dan kalau ada salah silap dan kekurangan kami minta maaf.. Commercial Reared Chicken vs Free Range Chicken
Hi everybody…
If u notice, the introduction of our blog is in English but so far all of our posting is in malay, so its kind of funny right. So, our intention now is to post some article in English, so that BinDim Farm can be read not only by Malaysian or our Nusantara relatives (Indonesia, Brunei, Singapore-malay, n etc) but also by all poultry enthusiast around the world.
Ok, let we discuss our above topic. As I watch my favorite tv show “River Cottage Spring” anchored by my favorite presenter Hugh Fearnly Whittingstall, I found a very alarming facts that really open my eyes and mind. So far in my mind the main if not the only advantage of free range chicken compared to commercially produce chicken is the better taste while we also give the chicken the way of life they should be living.
BinDim Farm believe chicken is an animal, and they should be treated as one, not as mutated living thing that just eat, drink, eat and 39 days later ended in our plate. Every chicken should lead a normal chicken life, means they should be able to see the sun light, roaming in the grass/field, playing around, eating the green, chasing the bug and other thing that normal chicken normally did. BD farm believe this is the RIGHT of every chicken. We also believe if our poultry is happy, they will produce a better meat, thus creating a better chain of life when we eat a happy chicken.
For years that thought is just a thought until I watched “River Cottage Spring” last night. In order to support his campaign (chicken out campaign), Hugh Fearnly went to a professor (I couldn’t recall his name but he is from London Metropolitan University) that has been studied the chicken revolution through out Europe for the past 30 years. Before the chicken been commercially produce in bulk, chicken is actually human main source for omega 3, protein and lean meat. He believe that since its commercially produce, the content of Omega 3 in chicken meat has fallen to 85% from it should be.
Omega 3 is a brain booster in child brain development and for adults Omega 3 hinder us from Mental Ilness. The professor deeply expressed his concerned on the increased of stress people and under developed kids around Europe due to what they eat. He believe what we eat will determine of how we behave. (just what BD Farm thought).
Then Hugh bring him 3 chickens and ask him to study the amount of nutrition on each of the sample. The 3 samples of chicken is:
1. Commercially produce chicken, 35-42 days chicken.
2. Slow grow corn fed chicken (representing the organic chicken, but still not reared in free range environment)
3. 70 days free range chicken.
The result is shocking, the free range chicken contains 10 times more omega 3 that the other 2 samples. Its also have 25% less fat than the other sample. So now, eating free range chicken is not only tastier but also healthier, agreed?? especially for our children.
The professor also give some advice that in order for a chicken to produce a meat that is healthy and best for human consumption particularly high in Omega 3, chicken needs 3 thing, that is:
1. Time, give them enough time to grow and develop dark muscle.
2. Give them chances to eat grass/herbs/green thing
3. Enough exercise like roaming in the field and etc.
Have u ever heard of a phrase, saying: You are what you eat….???? so, eat wisely my friends, choose wisely too.. you do not want to be a commercially produce chicken aren’t you? Caged, never seen sun light, under age chicken. No wonder many of us is so stress every single day and having regular migraine, huhuhu...
If u notice, the introduction of our blog is in English but so far all of our posting is in malay, so its kind of funny right. So, our intention now is to post some article in English, so that BinDim Farm can be read not only by Malaysian or our Nusantara relatives (Indonesia, Brunei, Singapore-malay, n etc) but also by all poultry enthusiast around the world.
Ok, let we discuss our above topic. So far in my mind the main if not the only advantage of free range chicken compared to commercially produce chicken is the better taste while we also give the chicken the way of life they should be living.
BinDim Farm believe chicken is an animal, and they should be treated as one, not as mutated living thing that just eat, drink, eat and 39 days later ended in our plate. Every chicken should lead a normal chicken life, means they should be able to see the sun light, roaming in the grass/field, playing around, eating the green, chasing the bug and other thing that normal chicken normally did. Jualan Tahun Baru Cina... Gong Xi, Gong Xi!!!

Pemberitahuan!!
Administrator BD Farm akan berjanji dan berusaha untuk sentiasa meng"update" blog ini sekurang2nya sekali setiap minggu.. Ini adalah janji kami supaya semua perkembangan BD Farm dapat dikongsi bersama, InsyaAllah..
okay, kita pergi semula dgn isi post sebenar mengenai tajuk di atas. Sempena CNY @ TBC ni BD Farm menawarkan ayam2 kampung kacuk pada harga istimewa (sila sms saya @ kadir utk tanye harga). Ayam2 kampung kacuk yg ada di reban kami akan berusia hampir 3 bulan dlm tempoh CNY nie. so, sapa cepat die dapat. Dlm stok kami ada 200 ekor jer. apalagi?? sms @ call la kami.
Selain itu juga kami juga menawarkan nenas josaphine sebagai antara jualan utama reban kami. Kami akan hantar terus kepada pemborong jika order yg anda minta adalah 4,000 biji ke atas, bg order yg kurang dari itu penghantaran masih boleh di buat atas persetujuan masing2. Harga yg kami tawarkan bagi nenas josaphine adalah:
1. Gred A (berat 1.4kg ke atas) = RM2.20* sebiji
2. Gred B (berat 1.1-1.39 kg) = RM2.00* sebiji
3. Gred C (berat 800g - 1.09kg) = RM1.80* sebiji
4. Gred D (berat >800g) = RM1.50* sebiji
Nenas Josaphine ni sebenarnye susah nk "tengok" beza if korang x biasa. Sbb dr mata kasar saiz gred A, B, dan C ni mcm sama jer, bila korang timbang baru nmpk beza. Yg A mmg berat sebab kandungan air lebih byk dan rs lebih manis dan lebih "Moisture", mmg sedap!! dan semua timbangan adalah dibuat ms kat ladang. so, jgn terperanjat bila gred A yg korang beli, bila timbang kat rumah berat jadi 1.3kg or kurang. Ini sebab bila smpi kat pengguna terakhir nenas sudah "sedikit kering" dan kurang moisture kerana ianya tak sesegar di ladang. Walau bagaimana pun kami boleh gerenti yg nenas2 ini isinya sgt lah manis umpama madu, hehehe..
Ada org ckp kat aku, apa pasal nenas yg BD Farm supply kecik sbb gred A cuma 1.4kg, saya beli kat sepang gred A mencecah 2.2kg? aku jawab: mmg la, greding ni mmg dh standard Lembaga Nenas Malaysia, jd semua yg berat 1.4kg keatas adalah gred A, tak kira la 1.4kg ke or 2.2kg, yg berat 3kg pun dikira Gred A, huhu.. so, kalau kebetulan ada yg besar (lebih 1.8kg) kami tetap akan jual kepada anda pada harga yg sama ;)
ok lah, jikalau ada yg berminat sila hubungi kami, anda pasti takkan menyesal, insyaAllah... Kami di BD Farm sentiasa mencari peluang baru dlm mengembangkan lagi perusahaan kami. Sekian Terima Kasih.

AYAM YG RIANG AKAN MENAMBAHKAN PRODUCTION.
Salam semua..
Dah lebih sebulan rasanya blog BD Farm ni menyepi tanpa posting baru, bukan apa sibuk sangat gamaknya dgn pelbagai aktiviti harian (alasan je tu,sebenarnya malas.. hehehe). Setelah kami pikir2kan balik rasanya kena review balik beberapa perkara atau target kami utk tahun 2010 ni. Ini kerana kami inginkan target yg lebih realistik dgn keadaan semasa ternakan di reban kami. Kami bahagi 2 target kami iaitu AKTIVITI JUALAN dan aktiviti PENAMBAH-BAIKKAN REBAN, harini aku cerita yg penambah-baikkan dulu:
Penambah-baikkan reban:
1. Pagar baru. Kos = RM10,000.00
Akan buat pagar untuk reban kami, insyaAllah kami akan memagar kawasan 0.5 ekar di sekitar reban kami, ini akan memudahkan ayam2 ternakan supaya dpt meragut rumput2 yg ada disekeliling. Dgn cara ini juga dieorg boleh main2 dan berkejaran dgn hati yg riang, hehehe... lgpun xde lah ayam2 ni pi makan pokok bunga jiran bila dh pagar nnt. harapan kami bila siap reban ini ayam2 akan jadi lebih riang dan ayam yg riang akan menghasilkan produk yg baik, insyaAllah..
2. Reban baru (ala bangsal). Kos = RM4,000.00
Kami plan nk tambah bilangan reban kami, nk tambah lagi 2 reban tp berkonsepkan ala bangsal- berbumbung, bertiang n ada tempat tenggek -(sure big bos@manager besar(mak aku) x bape setuju). kami nak buat 2 biji reban yg maybe berukuran 15 x 30 kaki persegi. Tp kena pagar dulu kawasan baru leh buat reban ni. Reban ni kami akan jadikan tempat nk besarkan ayam belanda remaja dan ayam kampung. Reban sedia ada akan dijadikan reban khas utk pengeluaran baka.
3. Tambak Tanah. Kos = RM1,800.00
Kat kawasan yang kami pagar tu akan kami tambakkan dengan tanah merah@laterit dan pasir halus supaya ayam kami lebih selesa. Utk pengetahuan semua kg kami ni tanah gambut (pit soil), so kalau bela anak ayam belanda fully white sure bila dh besar nnt akan bertukar jadi spanish black atau ayam selasih kalau tanah x ditambak, hehehe..
4. Inkubator & Hatcher. Kos RM5,000.00
Ketika ini kami ada inkubator model MI-103 yg dibeli dari Niche berkapasiti 315 bj telur. Kalau semua induk kami mula bertelur, gerenti tak muat lagi inkubator ini dan kami terpaksa tambah utk new production. Kami cadang nk beli model inkubator MI-203 yg boleh muat 600 biji telur dan Hatcher model MH-105 yg boleh muat 700biji telur. Doakan lah kejayaan kami. aminnn...
5. Brooder. Kos RM1,500.00
Selama ini brooder kami hanya bakul2 sayur yg abang aku ambik kat pasar borong smart JB, kalau setakat 50 ekor anak seminggu yg netas boleh la, tp 2010 ni dijangka akan byk giler anak yg netas, jadi kami perlukan brooder yg lebih besar, canggih dan berketerampilan, hehehe... bukan apa, ini pun kami buat supaya menjamin ayam kami riang n gembira, hehehe..
6. Baka Baru. Kos = RM1,500.00
Ketika ini kami ada 5 jenis ayam belanda dan 1 jenis ayam mutiara. Kami nk cuba tambahkan lagi koleksi ayam ternakan. Kami plan nk beli baka Niklas-100 (dari aussie) beli anak dlm 40 ekor (kongsi dgn Juta Kasih dr T'ganu). Itu pun kalau ada rezeki la, aminnn.. Pastu nk beli jgk beberapa baka Guinea Fowl, ini pun kalau ada rezeki, aminnn...
Secara ringkasnya inilah die projek penambah-baikkan reban BD Farm, byk jgk tu nak kena keluarkan modal, insyaAllah akan ada caranya, hehehe.. where there's a will, there the way.. skeaping london la plak!! versi bahasa melayu : di mana ada kemahuan, di situ ada jalan, insyaAllah.. aminnnn...
