THE STORY BEGINS...

On 1st of May 2008, me and a friend (Omel) went to Port Dickson to ease our mind while fishing in Marina Lagoon. It was a splendid 3 days vacation cos we have a chance to talk about our career plan and our future, it was very relaxing eventhough thru out the vacation we only caught a fish, hehehe.. On our way back, we stopped by at Port Dickson Mini Zoo, me and Omel has been animals lover since we were kids. It was a very simple zoo runs by a family. What caught our attention was they have guinea fowls and quite other few game birds.

When we get back in KL, we start searching information of Guinea Fowl and how we can breed it so that everybody can "taste" this very exquisite taste of this special game bird. The search for this game birds is endless, and along the way we met new friends that share same compassions. On 11th June 2008, the 1st batch of guinea keets arrive in BinDim Farm (BD Farm) in Pontian, Johor together with 8 poultes. This is a pilot project and i dont even tell my mum about the arrival of these birds.. hehehe... btw BD farm is own by me and my brother (Abdul Kadir @ Kadir Belanda).

To date, BD Farm has more than 250 turkeys and arnd 50 guinea fowls, we also raised ayam kampung & Ayam Kabir, we are targeting of supplying at least 300 birds per month starting from June 2010. Other than poultry, we also have 4 ponds of catfish, 4 ponds of ikan puyu, and 2 ponds of ikan haruan in our humble BinDim Farm...

Dah mcm krismas la pulak...

Salam semua..

Amacam puasa korang? Lebih baik dari tahun lepas ke? Terawih dh ponteng lum? Hehe… dalam sibuk mengerjakan ibadah di bulan puasa ni, kawan2 semua jgn la lupa tanggungjawab terhadap ternakan masing2, kerana menternak ni pun sebenarnya fardhu kifayah untuk kita umat islam, secara x langsung ianya juga merupakan ibadat untuk kita, aminnn.. insyaAllah…

Dlm kesibukan kami dgn ternakan, kami diberitahu oleh En Nizam dari vet johor yg rakan2 sekerja beliau (staf2 JPH nusajaya) berminat untuk menikmati daging turkeys untuk hari raya aidilfitri nnt.. wahhh.. dh mcm krismas org masak turkeys untuk perayaan, hehe.. kami pun offer la mereka harga yg ‘baik punye’.. x sangka jumlah order sehingga harini adalah 13 ekor n still counting!! Ni cuma order dari staf JPH, x masuk org awam yg lain.. wahhh, dh betul mcm krismas la raya tahun ni, hehehe..

Jika begini lah sambutan org msia terhadap turkeys mmg patut lebih ramai org kita bela turkeys. Cara bela pun x susah, mcm ayam kg jer, cuma ms die kecik tu yg agak kritikal. Ayam kg amik masa 5-6 bulan untuk mencapai berat 1.8-2.2kg, turkeys plak pada umur 5-6bln yg jantan sudah mencapai berat 6kg!! hehe.. menarikkan??

Anyway, semoga harapan datin pengarah (JPH Johor) untuk melihat orang ramai menerima turkeys sebagai makanan harian menjadi kenyataan dlm masa 2,3 tahun lagi, ianya amat bermakna bagi kami kerana staf2 jph sendiri dpt menikmati daging ini dan memberikan sokongan yg hebat kepada ternakan ini, terima kasih semua…

p/s: agaknya if kami buat beriyani gam turkeys ramai x yg ingin mencuba? Hehe..
