THE STORY BEGINS...

On 1st of May 2008, me and a friend (Omel) went to Port Dickson to ease our mind while fishing in Marina Lagoon. It was a splendid 3 days vacation cos we have a chance to talk about our career plan and our future, it was very relaxing eventhough thru out the vacation we only caught a fish, hehehe.. On our way back, we stopped by at Port Dickson Mini Zoo, me and Omel has been animals lover since we were kids. It was a very simple zoo runs by a family. What caught our attention was they have guinea fowls and quite other few game birds.

When we get back in KL, we start searching information of Guinea Fowl and how we can breed it so that everybody can "taste" this very exquisite taste of this special game bird. The search for this game birds is endless, and along the way we met new friends that share same compassions. On 11th June 2008, the 1st batch of guinea keets arrive in BinDim Farm (BD Farm) in Pontian, Johor together with 8 poultes. This is a pilot project and i dont even tell my mum about the arrival of these birds.. hehehe... btw BD farm is own by me and my brother (Abdul Kadir @ Kadir Belanda).

To date, BD Farm has more than 250 turkeys and arnd 50 guinea fowls, we also raised ayam kampung & Ayam Kabir, we are targeting of supplying at least 300 birds per month starting from June 2010. Other than poultry, we also have 4 ponds of catfish, 4 ponds of ikan puyu, and 2 ponds of ikan haruan in our humble BinDim Farm...

Kolam Ikan


Ini dia sebahagian dari 10 kolam ikan yg ada di BinDim Farm. Buat masa ni kami sedang menternak ikan puyu 4 kolam, ikan keli 4 kolam dan ikan haruan 2 kolam. Ukuran bagi kolam ni adalah yg standard semua guna iaitu 7 x 16 x 3 kaki. Kalau korang perasan oleh kerana nk menjimatkan cost kami guna buluh yg matang utk menjadi tiang kolam ni, maklum la harga kayu sekarang mahal..
Kami mula buat projek ikan pada Mac 2009, 10 May 2009 baru start masuk benih pertama iaitu 4 ribu anak keli dan 6 ribu anak puyu. Lepas tu 15 jun kami masukkan lagi 10 ribu anak ikan keli, diikuti dgn 10 ribu anak puyu, dan yg terakhir kami masukkan 2 ribu anak haruan dlm 2 kolam terakhir. Projek ikan ni sebenarnya mmg dh lama kami nk buat tapi x berani, lepas melawat projek kenalan kami (saudara ijal) barulah kami berkeyakinan. Projek ini juga sebenarnya dgn usahasama oleh saudara Zuri Hakim (classmate aku ms kat mrsm). Terima kasih juga kepada Pak Tam yg menolong kami buat kolam ni dan juga Mat Beling kerana tolong kutip kaca2 yg mmg byk kat kawasan tapak kolam ini. hehehe...
