THE STORY BEGINS...

On 1st of May 2008, me and a friend (Omel) went to Port Dickson to ease our mind while fishing in Marina Lagoon. It was a splendid 3 days vacation cos we have a chance to talk about our career plan and our future, it was very relaxing eventhough thru out the vacation we only caught a fish, hehehe.. On our way back, we stopped by at Port Dickson Mini Zoo, me and Omel has been animals lover since we were kids. It was a very simple zoo runs by a family. What caught our attention was they have guinea fowls and quite other few game birds.

When we get back in KL, we start searching information of Guinea Fowl and how we can breed it so that everybody can "taste" this very exquisite taste of this special game bird. The search for this game birds is endless, and along the way we met new friends that share same compassions. On 11th June 2008, the 1st batch of guinea keets arrive in BinDim Farm (BD Farm) in Pontian, Johor together with 8 poultes. This is a pilot project and i dont even tell my mum about the arrival of these birds.. hehehe... btw BD farm is own by me and my brother (Abdul Kadir @ Kadir Belanda).

To date, BD Farm has more than 250 turkeys and arnd 50 guinea fowls, we also raised ayam kampung & Ayam Kabir, we are targeting of supplying at least 300 birds per month starting from June 2010. Other than poultry, we also have 4 ponds of catfish, 4 ponds of ikan puyu, and 2 ponds of ikan haruan in our humble BinDim Farm...

kenapa kolam kanvas?




salam semua...
seperti yg korang dh sedia maklum BD Farm ni bukan saja bela ayam (unggas) tp kiteorg jugak bela ikan air tawar dlm kanvas. Bila sebut kolam kanvas je ramai yg kurang yakin tp inilah yg kami buat sejak hampir setahun lalu. Kami pilih utk buat kolam kanvas instead of kolam simen, dan kolam tanah atas beberapa sebab. sebab paling utama ialah kerana kalau korang perasan tanah kami ialah tanah gambut. kalau buat kolam tanah mmg habis hilang la semua ikan2 kami sembunyi dlm tanah.. huhuhu.. kalau buat kolam simen plak kena tambak tanah merah then batu, pastu baru leh set up kolam, kos mmg berlipat ganda. so, ROI kalau buat kolam simen mmg sgt panjang n x berbaloi.. sebab itulah kami memilih utk buat kolam kanvas. lg satu kelebihan kolam kanvas ni ia boleh di alihkan jika keadaan memaksa, cuba korangkan mcm mana agaknya yg alihkan kolam simen, kasi pecahhh la...!! hehehe..
ok, berbalik dr gambar2 kat atas tu. gambar2 ni ada sequence kami buat kolam kanvas. Mula2 kawasan yg nk buat kolam tu dibersihkan dan cek kalau2 bawah tu ada kaca ke, tunggul yg tajam jer atau apa2 barang yg boleh membocorkan kanvas korang. pastu bila dh puas hati baru set up kan frame utk 'gantung' kanvas. frame ni kami buat dari kayu 1.5 inci x 1.5inci, batang buluh sebagai tiang. luas kolam ni ialah 7 x 16 kaki x 3 kaki tggi. bila dh siap frame br pasang kanvas dgn melilitkan tali kat keliling kolam kepada frame td. korang sama ada boleh pakukan tali ke frame ataupun ikatkan tali tu ke frame.. simple je kan.. kolam pertama ialah yg paling susah, tp bila dh tau 'cara' yg betul mmg senang jer... hehehe..
